Blogging on the go

As a bit of a techno dummy I have previously tried and failed to update my blog when out and about by using my mobile phone.  Then it occurred to me. There will be an app that I need. And there is. So I have downloaded it and now I'm testing it out.

I have sorted how to add photos but I can't work out how to add titles to them using the blogger app but here is a photo of handsome Hypermoss on Souther Fell in the Lake District.

  1. Good pic and i’m sure you will have it sorted soon.
I will download the app when i get a new phone with lots of memory space in September and then join in.

  2. Not certain I will get it sorted, Alan. I am not good with computery things.

  3. Largely useless in Scotland cos our hills only have wind turbines and not mobile phone masts.

    1. Indeedy. You'd have thought that if they have to put up turbines they could stick a phone mast on the side

  4. Hi Fellbound

I, too, am a bit of a computer klutz, and have recently downloaded the Blogger app to see if I could blog on-the-go as many seem to do. I must confess I haven't entirely sussed it yet, but on my last longer trip I did blog every day and save the post as a draft with the idea of tidying it up and adding photos later.

It worked to a point, but there was a problem that occurred several times: the posts wouldn't always properly "save" and I couldn't retrieve them - which meant I lost what I'd written at the time. I did find a way round it, but I also found out it is a known and as-yet unresolved problem with the blogger app, and it is mighty frustrating!

Just thought I'd let you know to save you possibly hours of cursing and frustration - if it happens, it's not your fault!

Anyway, having found your blog I'll add you to my list of "following" and have a trawl through some earlier posts.

    All the best

    Jules

    1. Hi Jules

Thanks for the warning. I'll be wary about doing too much stuff remotely before I know what works and what doesn't.

  5. David, I've been blogging on the move intermittently since 2008, first with Blackberries and now with a Samsung. I've never considered or needed an 'app'. All I seem to need to do is send an email to my Blogspot email address. Photos can be attached but mine always seem to appear at the top of the posting, which I don't find unacceptable, but maybe an 'app' could sort that out.
It's easy to save draft emails, in fact the Blackberry phones sometimes crashed, losing unsaved text, so I got into the habit of saving it frequently. My system is too simplistic to add labels to the postings, but that's easily done when I get home.
BTW - if you take a highish TGOC route you'll get reception most days, even with EE.

  6. Thanks Martin. I didn't know I had an e-mail address for my blog! I will get a youngster to explain it to me so that I can try this method.
