I remember reading Wainwright's account of visiting just before the village was deserted and the reservoir created, very haunting.Stephhttp://endurance-adventures.co.uknoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6257326944769558416.post-7724053074704333092013-10-09T10:35:51.145+01:002013-10-09T10:35:51.145+01:00Hi Steve

Haweswater always seems much lighter and less oppressive. Other than the scars on the shoreline when the lake level is low it could almost be natural.FellBoundhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13089687581260477621noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6257326944769558416.post-36813239687262496582013-10-09T10:33:03.311+01:002013-10-09T10:33:03.311+01:00Hi Alan

Always feels a tad strange though when the water level is low like that and the remnants of the old village become visible.Stevehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15238683575972518114noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6257326944769558416.post-45825526301287194782013-10-07T19:51:02.934+01:002013-10-07T19:51:02.934+01:00Its a lovely area.
